Privacy

Updated 15 September 2026 · plain language, on purpose.

The short version

ReadyEye shows public-safety information from official sources. You never need an account to look at any of it.

If you set up an account, we keep the minimum: your email, a display name, your postal code, and which communities you watch. We never sell it, never share it for advertising, and never show it to other people.

What we collect without an account

A random id stored in your browser so the app can remember your watched communities and your settings. It is not tied to your name and it never leaves your device except as a one-way hash we use to count how many devices use the app each day.

If you allow it, your location — used only on your device to show what is near you. We do not store it.

We use no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics scripts.

What we collect with an account

Your email (from Google, Apple, or the one you type), a display name, your postal code, and the communities you watch, so they follow you to any device.

If you tick the updates box, the exact wording you agreed to and when — Canada's anti-spam law asks us to keep that proof. You can withdraw consent any time from Settings or the link in any email.

When posting opens, anything you post — a report, a photo, a note — is reviewed by a person before it is shown as verified, and is kept with your account for the record.

Where it lives and who can see it

Data is hosted with Supabase and Vercel. Two members of the ReadyEye crew can see account records to run the service. Nobody else can.

Official feeds we relay (Ontario's fire map, Environment Canada, Alert Ready and others) are read from their publishers; we send them nothing about you.

Your choices

Delete your account and everything attached to it: email readyeyeapp@gmail.com from the address on the account and it is gone within seven days.

Watched communities and settings stored in your browser can be cleared by clearing site data.
